bernée was born from Bernard and Renée, my parents.
Two creative, hands-on minds: Renée, with her eye for shape
and beauty; Bernard, driven by design, transformation and
objects that can become something else.
The name bernée, a blend of their two first names, now carries
the imprint of their story and their creativity.
Making things has always been part of my life. Charcoal drawing, fine arts and artistic research have shaped my path.
With bernée, I chose to return to that creative gesture through a singular material: the used maritime fender. Marked by time, use and the ocean, it carries a story.
In a thoughtful approach to upcycling, the material is not erased but revealed. Its marks, irregularities and shades become an integral part of each piece.
Each fender is transformed by hand into a light, between practised gesture and the unpredictability of the material.
Each creation becomes singular: a light with a strong identity, carrying memory and emotion.
bernée was born on the French Atlantic coast, where material, craft and light come together.
